We're walking for animals - will you help?

Writer's picture: Jessi PapkeJessi Papke

For the second year in a row, the Dog Walk & K-9 Festival was canceled due to COVID-19. It takes so long to plan an event of that size, and without knowing what the future held, we had to make a decision that had the best interests of our supports, staff, and volunteers in mind. We hope to have the 2022 event, but that solely depends on the risk to public health which we won't know until we get closer.

In the meantime, we're hosting a virtual walk! This is our first-ever virtual walk event and we need your support now more than ever. Making Tracks for Animals is FREE to register, and allows you the flexibility to walk whenever, wherever you choose! Kalamazoo County Parks and Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy offer beautiful, pet-friendly properties which are perfect places to walk for animals!

In case you need a bigger motivator than helping animals and their humans, we're sweetening the pot with incentive prizes as you hit fundraising targets. Reach your first target of $50 and receive the official 2021 event shirt! Get more details on the website at https://www.khsdogwalk.org, or click the buttons below to register or donate right now!

2021 has brought so much growth to our organization! Everything is new and expanding.

  • We've invested in technology (hardware and software) to streamline services, support and organize our volunteers and programs, and keep up with our rapid growth;

  • We're ramping up our daily capacity to make a greater impact, faster;

  • We've added to our team on every level! New talent and compassionate, energetic staff are helping us reach our next-level goals;

  • We're gearing up to unveil new services that will improve the health and quality of life for community pets;

  • Community demand for affordable services is exploding, and we are rising to meet those needs.

All of this has been made possible by the generous contributions of our supporters. In a year that has seen so many challenges, your support is critical to our mission. We've set an ambitious goal of $50,000, and we have a full month to get there! Can we hit $10,000 by the weekend?

If you have a business that's interested in sponsoring, just email Julie at jbarber@kazoohumane.org - there is still plenty of opportunities left for your business to make a positive impact through this event.

The virtual walk, Making Tracks for Animals Presented by Pet Supplies Plus, is made possible by contributions and partnerships from these generous community businesses and organizations:
