Urgent Action Alert: Sandhill Cranes are being considered for recreational trophy shooting!

*UPDATE 3/4/2021: Representatives from Attorneys for Animals, Songbird Protection Coalition, Michigan Audubon and Clarkston Backyard Birders gave verbal testimony, which resulted in the resolution being tabled. As a result, no vote was cast yesterday to move SR 20 out of the Senate Committee. More information will be released as we have it. Thank you to everyone who expressed your concern to the Senate! It worked (for now)!


URGENT SANDHILL CRANE ACTION ALERT – IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED:

Resolution 20 - calls for the RECREATIONAL TROPHY SHOOTING of Michigan’s beloved Sandhill cranes!

This misguided resolution is being fast-tracked to avoid time for citizen input and is scheduled to be heard this coming Wednesday, March 3rd at 8:30am.

1. Please call your senator - ask them to OPPOSE SR 20 and SR 30. Ask them to call/email you on how they plan to vote on SR 20. Find your state senator here https://www.senate.michigan.gov/fysbyaddress.html

2. Please email your letter of opposition to the Senate NRC Committee here OfcSCC@senate.michigan.gov
