Welcome To The Kalamazoo Humane Society

The Kalamazoo Humane Society (KHS) was founded in 1897 and has served the community for over 100 years in the area of animal welfare and protection. KHS is a leader in animal cruelty prevention, pet population control and humane education.

As a non-sheltering facility, KHS works with Kalamazoo County Animal Services & Enforcement to address the needs of stray and homeless animals, to eliminate animal suffering and to provide pet adoption counseling to citizens interested in adopting a pet.

KHS is not affiliated with any other local or national humane organization. KHS is a local, private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and receives no federal or state funding.
